A gender dimension is missing from the WTO consultations and EU-Ukraine trade relations. In order to fill the gap it is necessary to:
Integrate a gender analysis in the ongoing trade impact assessments and encourage the use of gender-disaggregated data and gender indicators.
Form a multi-sector gender and trade consultative group with regard to gender issues at
the WTO and EU-Ukraine trade relations under the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy. This
could take the form of a joint committee with representatives from the public, private, civil
and academic sectors.
Adopt explicit gender analysis and integration measures in all trade policy development
related to the WTO and EU-Ukraine trade negotiations.
Make the WTO and EU-Ukraine trade decision-making nationally and multilaterally more
transparent, democratic and guarantee women's input and participation.
Introduce special programs (micro-finance, credits, grant programs, etc.) to support
women's businesses.
