The Canadian Gender and Trade Initiative was created at a September, 2001 meeting of Canadian organizations. In February, 2002 the Report from the Canadian Gender and Trade Consultation was issued. This report includes information on The Canadian Gender and Trade Initiative, international links, major Gender and Trade issues for Canada, and the gaps and needs in the region. To date, a formal Canadian network does not exist. However, Canadian organizations continue to work on gender and trade issues and make valuable contributions to the dialogue.
