The Committee was created in order to share activities, identify new opportunities for joint analyses and provide a presence in the key meetings related to American continent. These women have a deeply critical of the negative impacts that trade and investment policies are having on women in the region and are striving for change. IGTN Latin America and North America are active members. AWID - The Association for Women’s Rights in Development: www.awid.org International membership organization connecting, informing and mobilizing people and organizations committed to achieving gender equality, sustainable development and women's human rights. AWID's goal is to cause policy, institutional and individual change that will improve the lives of women and girls everywhere. IGTN is an active member. DAWN - Development Alternatives with Women in a New Era: www.dawn.org.fj IDS - Institute for Development Studies: www.ids.ac.uk/ids IDS is an internationally-renowned centre for research and teaching on development, established in 1966. IDS also hosts many innovative information and knowledge management services. IATP - Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy: www.iatp.org Works with organizations around the world to analyze how global trade agreements impact domestic farm and food policies. Alongside a global coalition, IATP advocates for fair trade policies that promote strong health standards, labor and human rights, the environment and, most fundamentally, democratic institutions. IATP is based on US and Europe. IGTN has joint projects with IATP. OWINFS - Our World is Not for Sale Coalition: www.ourworldisnotforsale.org SAPRIN - Structutal Adjustment Participatory Review International Network: www.saprin.org Global network established to expand and legitimize the role of civil society in economic policymaking and to strengthen the organized challenge to structural adjustment programs by citizens around the globe. WAR ON WANT: www.waronwant.org Fights poverty in developing countries in partnership and solidarity with people affected by globalisation. We campaign for workers' rights and against the root causes of global poverty, inequality and injustice. THE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATIONS UNRISD - Research Institute for Social Development: www.unrisd.org An autonomous UN agency engaging in multidisciplinary research on the social dimensions of contemporary problems affecting development. Through its research, UNRISD stimulates dialogue and contributes to policy debates on key issues of social development within and outside the United Nations system.
