The Enquete Commission on Globalisation of the World Economy (Enquete-Kommission "globalisierung der Weltwirtschaft-Herausforderungen und Antworten') of the German Parliament held its first-ever public hearing on the topic of gender. Entitled Gender and Globalisation, the hearing was a great success. It was a historic event in term of public participation. Over 240 men and women attended the event. Making the event the largest public gathering of an Enquete Commission since the framework for such a Committee was established in the 1950's. |
