A meeting on Sustainability Impact Assessments (SIAs) took place on 30th of November in the context of civil society meetings organised by DG Trade. At the meeting, there were primarily women activists from gender focused NGOs and networks that had participated the same day in an ad hoc meeting on gender and trade. Their interest in this meeting can be explained by the fact that SIAs’ methodology is viewed as an important tool to strengthen the development of a gender analysis of trade agreements and policies. This article reports back on that meeting and offers recommendations on SIAs from a gender perspective. |
