The agenda for economic growth and poverty reduction as promoted by the EC in the
Communication ‘Trade and Development: Assisting developing countries benefit from trade’ could be summarised to the following elements: deregulation of national markets, removal of trade barriers in domestic industries as well as increase in foreign direct investment flows. This document presents WIDE's views on the subject and answers the issue of "Why Trade Liberalization is Not Enough." |
