| Abstract: |
This review seeks to gather publications on the development of women’s economic well being during the later half of the 20th century, a time in which trade has increased substantially in the United States and the world. In the first part of this work, I use statistics and reports provided by a variety of resources to examine trends in women’s labor force participation, shift in occupations, and wages. In the second half, I attempt to look at development of U.S. trade and the possible impacts it may have on women’s employment. Throughout the review I consider many factors contributing to women’s economic well being including business cycles, privatization, and a changing economy. |
